How do I sterilize my glass baby bottle?

You can disinfect the bottle by placing all the components in boiling water for 5 minutes, or put them in a sterilizer.

Why does the glass baby bottle have a silicone sleeve?

The silicone sleeves are designed to make the bottles more grip-friendly and to protect the glass bottle from breakage.

The bottle is thermal shock resistant. What does that mean?

Thermal shock resistant means the glass bottle can withstand large temperature changes. For example, you can take the bottle from the freezer and put it in boiling water.

What is borosilicate glass?

Borosilicate glass is a type of glass which is commonly used in laboratories, and is very solid, light-weight and clear. Borosilicate glass can endure large temperature differences and is therefore perfectly suitable to heat from frozen. It is also very scratch-resistant and in combination with EcoVikings ceramic volume markings the baby bottle has a long life-span.

Why are EcoViking baby bottles a bit more expensive than others?

The EcoViking glass baby bottles are a combination of well thought-out design and healthy materials. One of the most important things about the bottle is that it is long-lasting and can be passed from one sibling to another or even from generation to generation. In order for the bottle to last that long we chose more expensive materials, such as borosilicate glass and medical grade silicone. All the materials in our glass baby bottles are approved by the EN European Standard.

We believe our EcoViking glass baby bottle is a step in the direction towards a future with less consumptions and more durable products, and we hope you feel that all of the above justifies the pricing of our glass baby bottles compared to other glasbottles.

Can I use my glass baby bottle in a microwave oven?

Yes, the bottle can be heated in a microwave oven. Be sure to remove cap, screw ring, sealing disc and nipple before microwaving. Take extra care when heating in a microwave. Stir the formula thoroughly after heating and check the temperature of the formula before serving.

Is the glass baby bottle safe?

The bottle is made of durable borosilicate glass and has a protective silicone sleeve which also makes the bottle more grip-friendly. Glass bottles can break and the silicone sleeve provides a good protection for the bottle but the protection is not guaranteed. The glass baby bottle should always be used with adult supervision. Never leave children alone with the baby bottle and don’t let them walk or run with the bottle.

Why should I use a baby bottle in glass?

There are many advantages with the EcoViking glass baby bottle. They don’t emit any harmful chemicals like plastic bottles do. The EcoViking glass baby bottle is designed so that the fluid never touches plastic. Since our bottles are made of durable borosilicate glass they don’t easily get scratches like most plastic bottles do. It is common for bacteria to gather in the scratches, which is avoided with our glass bottles. Borosilicate glass is commonly used in laboratories and is characterised by clarity and durability.

The bottle is made of glass. Doesn’t that mean it’s heavy?

Some people think glass baby bottles are heavier than plastic baby bottles, but our bottles are as light as they are easily manageable. You can use the EcoViking glass baby bottle with or without the silicone sleeve.

What environmental profits are there with the glass baby bottle?

For every plastic product purchased our planet’s limited supply of oil is used. Furthermore, a large amount of chemicals and conservatives are used to process plastic. Glass products, on the other hand, are recycled at a larger scale compared to plastic products. Glass is also easier to recycle and doesn’t lose its quality in the recycling process. The biggest downside to plastic is that the plastic often isn’t recycled, but burnt or left in nature. Burning of plastic emits large amounts of poisonous airborne chemicals, and plastic waste in nature is a huge threat to our planet since it takes thousands of years to decompose.

Will other nipples fit this bottle?
